About the Opportunity

Methanex is currently seeking a Product Handling Summer Student to join our team in Medicine Hat, AB. This position is available for a four-month term (May-August) during the summer of 2026. It is available to students who will be returning to school once the work term is complete. 

The Product Handling Summer Student will work under the guidance of the Supervisor, as part of a team to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective loading of methanol.

Some responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Follow procedures to load railcars and trucks
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and data entry as required
  • Perform minor maintenance and housekeeping
  • Participate on special projects as assigned
  • Adhere to all Methanex health, safety, and environmental policies

About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need to be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in any field of study, while being physically fit and willing to work a compressed work schedule in varying weather conditions. 

Experience and Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn additional systems as required
  • Valid Alberta Driver’s License
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment screening that includes a background check and medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, due to the safety sensitive nature of the position
