About the Opportunity
Methanex is currently seeking an IT Business Relationship Manager to join the team in Medicine Hat, AB on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Director, Global IT Site Operations in Vancouver, you will act as the strategic liaison between Global IT and regional business units. This role is accountable for aligning IT services with business needs, managing regional IT resources, and contributing to the delivery of an integrated systems roadmap that supports operations in Manufacturing, Corporate Services, and Finance.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing relationships with business stakeholders to understand priorities and shape IT service delivery
- Leading the development and implementation of regional IT service strategies and multi-year roadmaps
- Overseeing regional IT operations, including service desk performance, ticketing, and resource allocation
- Acting as a service broker to coordinate enterprise-level IT solutions for the region
- Identifying and translating business needs into technology initiatives and improvements
- Communicating initiative value, risk, and ROI to gain sponsorship and drive execution
- Leading and supporting end-to-end project delivery, including vendor selection, testing, and change management
- Promoting data quality and user-centric reporting and analytics solutions
- Ensuring IT solutions comply with internal standards and regulatory requirements
- Coaching and developing direct reports, while promoting a culture of safety and professional growth
- Championing change management and IT best practices across the organization
- Participating in global IT leadership teams to align regional execution with enterprise IT strategy
About You
To qualify, you will need a university degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related business discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience). A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, including at least 3 years in a leadership or people management role, will also be essential.
Additionally, the following assets would be preferred, but not required:
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization
- Experience analyzing business needs and translating them into scalable IT solutions
- Strong background in negotiating with vendors and managing third-party service providers
- Familiarity with performance measurement, service delivery governance, and demand management
- Exposure to regulated industries and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
